SET # 278E, THE RED COMET. 264E, 261T, 603, 603, 604. Original. c.
1935. The first version of this set with the red transformer, the 261T coal tender
and cars with air tanks instead of fish bellies was available in this configuration only
in 1935. The loco was tested and runs, the light works and has a nice solid original
cab without firebox doors, unique to 1935. The engine grades C-7 otherwise a C-8
set. The Set box is complete with a nice label and no missing flaps, still sealed on the bottom. The interior boxes have end flap repairs but no tape. All their end flaps and side flaps are present but no coupler flaps. The engine box has it's liner, the car boxes are stamped "R" for red as are the tender box and transformer box..
