LIONEL 203 SWITCHER.  Original.  No tender. Here is a pretty decent engine all in all, but it does need a little bit of attention.  It would make a great runner or a nice display piece.  Ok, the bad news first.  The e-unit is missing the plastic drum that cycles the unit, replacements are easily found.  As such, I could not test the motor but it turns freely and I see nothing wrong with it visually other than some of the insulation on some of the wires is becoming brittle.  I honestly don't think there will be a problem with it running once the e-unit is serviced.  There is a slight waviness to the right rear cab roof corner which can bee seen in the photos below. One red jewel missing from a front marker light.  The good news is the engine looks much better in person.  The flash in the photos makes every rivet and flat reflective surface look white or washed out.  The engine has a nice rich black color in person. The overall appearance of the item would be in the C-6 range. There is some minor surface rust on some screw heads and mounting brackets etc. but nothing major and certainly not areas that are a visual problem.

A nicer engine than the description indicates.  A very decent fix-it-upper, far from junk but does need a little TLC.   As such it is SOLD AS IS. Please ask any questions you may have prior to buying, I'll be glad to answer them.
